The only pros i would have is great hours and pay. But other than that the managers and pretty much everyone else treats you like robots. It is understanable that this job is about selling and meeting your goals, but that's all they care about.
If you like very competitive and drama, this job is for you. Pros great pay, long breaks. Cons poor management, dramas. Was this review helpful? Report Share. Pros none. Cons everything.
Productive and fun place to work. I worked in the cosmetic department.
I was hired on as A part time beauty advisor. The job was fun and I think the pay was fair. I left after one year because I needed full-time work. Unfortunately management was unable to offer me a full time position. Pros Free cosmetics and beauty training! Cons 1pm - 9pm shifts. We can only work open-close shifts so your life is basically Dillards when you work full time.
They do have great benefits and discounts, and it is a fun atmosphere, at least in the cosmetics department. Pros Discounts. Cons Long hours. Worst job ever. I have type one diabetes and they never let me take a break from my 10 hour shift so I can check my blood sugar.
Had to quit because of how ridiculous the management was and putting my life at risk. Pros Nothing. Cons No breaks. Leave a review. Help people like you. If this is just a place you plan on working as a job and not a career don't apply. You will be doing a lot of off the clock learning and connecting with customers.
It's hard to move up in the store. All they care about are these outrages sales goals. Pros Pay. Cons expensive healthcare Dillards makeup counter outrages sales goals. Pros Samples gratis. Cons Stressful. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Good for a retail store.
Has a strong sense of customer service. But comes with all the cons of normal retail. I didn't like how they reacted when the pandemic started. They took the longest to close down the store compared to the rest of the mall. My coworkers are honestly the only reason I've been there as long as I have. Super competitive, everyone was always competing and angry for sales because your job quite literally depends on it. Cons Unreachable sales goals, toxic environment. Jobs at Dillard's, Inc. Loved the job at first but overtime I realized the amount of drama there was. Half of the time your at work there is hardly any customers so you are expected to out source through your cad which by the way was a list of less than people and half where invalid s. But most of the time there is hardly anyone there. Each day we where given a sales goal ranging from like a day in makeup sales alone.
This led all of the beauty advisors to argue over sales, gossip about one another and ultimately create a stressful and toxic work environment. When you bring your problems to management they tell you that they are to busy to address this and you will have to figure it out yourself. You are also expected to get one credit card application a week. On the plus side you get an hour lunch, pretty good pay, and free makeup.
Overall it was not a good fit for me I loved the idea of the job and running my own makeup counter but being put against my coworkers is not cool. Cons Drama, unrealistic goals, etc.Estee Lauder Makeup @ Dillard's Pink Cosmetics Event
It can be an amazing experience if you meet people who you vibe with. They need to step into this decade and upgrade Dillards makeup counter systems and their company values. Please appreciate us a little more. Pros 1 hour lunch, nice discount, some major holidays off. Cons Sales strategy is dated, health benefits are despicable, Billion dollar companies should be required to provide amazing benefit.
Not a bad place to start out. The managers are overworked constantly, and they are underpaid for the jobs that they do. Pros Hour lunch, employee discount. Cons Low pay, have to work nights, weekends, and holidays. I got hired as a beauty advisor and I loved it at first. But over time I felt like I would fight for sales. Pros 1 hr lunches, great discount. Cons 9 times to be late during a 6 month period. Pros Free samples, employee discount. Cons Management. Terrible management, favoritism, and stressful work environment. They claim to offer opportunity to grow but positions never open up and if they do, they hire from outside.
The company pushed very high sales goals and did not take in to consideration the actual amount of customers in the store. They often would push for us to bring in customer from repeated business, but you can only call someone so many times to come and sell to. There was no understanding on why sales goals were not being meet, however business had been slow for quite sometime. I often felt like I was a telemarketer, with how often they requested us to call in customers.
The employee often felt required to buy things themselves to meet our their sales goals. Pros Employee Discounts were good. Cons Extremely high sales goals. Lack of communication from management.Dillards makeup counter
